MOAB 24hr 1st & 3rd for Exposure Lights

Cannondale Mona-Vie Pro Mens teams dominated the World renowned race with the fastest recorded night lap using the new MaXx-D and Joystick MaXx-2!

The 2008 24 Hours of MOAB began with epic southerly winds that kicked up dust storm throughout the MOAB Valley and Race Venue.

Storming out and ahead of the winds from the start, Cannondale Mona-Vie Rider Ben Sontag set the bar with the first lap.  The “Working Man” Bart Gillespie was up next setting the second fastest lap of the race, only to beat his time by one second in lap number six. That time held firm into the night where Bart Gillespie of Cannondale Mona-Vie / Exposure Lights set the fastest night lap.

We delivered a special custom fleet of MaXx-D’s to the Pro teams, all the riders were blown away by the power behind the Exposure Torches. Mona-Vie Pro Rider Alex Grant was quoted as saying: “As I was passing people, they were asking me what I had for lights and expressing concern that I was washing their lighting systems away, These lights are incredible” German Rider Ben Sontag came into the pits after his first ever experience night riding with a smile ear to ear. He was completely blown away at the ability to maintain race leading speed through out the night with his MaXx-D and Joystick MaXx-2. Bart Gillespie, King of the MOAB 24 Hours, commented that “Weight to brightness ratio of the Joystick and MaXx-D and the security of the MaXx-D handle bar bracket allows him to maintain his blistering race pace with confidence”. His words backed by the fastest night lap.

Exposure Lights USA provided team support for the Cannondale Mona-Vie Pro 1&2 squads as well as various "Just for Fun" teams under the Cannondale Mona-Vie umbrella. Not one Exposure Light left any rider dark, while reports came in that various other competitor’s lights with heavier battery packs and endless cables and connections were dimming and running out of juice before completion of a single lap. Exposure Lights USA representative Steve Jacques pushed the limits of the Exposure Lights range to the MaXx. “We had Exposure-Cannondale Mona-Vie riders setting some incredibly fast pace laps all through the night, so charging time between laps was less than I had expected, I sent out riders with pure confidence and they continued to raise the bar.  Meeting them at their entry into the pits to retrieve lights and maximize charge time, and seeing their big smiles from enjoying their night laps with them really having no worries at all was great.  Continuing- “That is racing at it’s finest, knowing the products can stand the heat gives me increased confidence that Exposure Lights are the lightest, brightest and best lights on the market”.

Congratulations to the entire Cannondale Mona-Vie / Exposure Lights team for a strong show at the 2008 24 Hours of MOAB.  In the Pro Team division they took first and third place as well as first and fifth place overall.
